Mario González T.: Nothing Important, I think
I was really hoping I could participate in the Google Summer of Code this year and I made a proposal with Gnome Desktop Applets to the Gnome project. There were some misunderstandings during the process, they asked me a patch, I sent it, I waited for an answer but the only answer I received at the end was (in short): "dear student, you weren't selected for this year". I'm confident they've received lots of proposal and the budget now it's shorter than past years, however I think people in charge should have a better communication with students and improve the Opening process a bit further, well c'est la vie...... isn't? :-) After my departure at Mandriva, it's been really hard for me to get a new job. I think because most of companies have shrunk the current budget and they are not really looking for new people to work with. So I've got 2 part-times jobs, one as a teacher (yes, I try to teach :-) and the other one is as a Software Engineer in a small company for a small project. Small company means you've got to do more that one labour at once but it's fine... in a short term... it's really tiring. So I'm still open to new opportunities, remotely, on-site, or whatever. BTW, I have created a twitter account: http://twitter.com/gonzalemario (mostly in Spanish so far but I'm working on it) you can follow it if you like :-)
